About Chitra Design System
This entire website is built on Chitra Design System v2.0 — a personal design system created by Subhankar Rout, purely as a creative passion project.
Chitra started as a simple idea: what if a designer built their own design language — their own rules for colour, typography, spacing, buttons, and components — tailored entirely to one website? That idea became this. Every visual decision you see on this site, from the violet accent to the card hover states, flows from the Chitra Design System.
What makes Chitra a little special is how it was built. It was a collaborative process between a designer and AI — thinking through tokens, debating component patterns, writing documentation, and stress-testing decisions until things felt right. The result is a living storybook: a complete reference of everything that makes this website look and feel the way it does.
Chitra is non-commercial. It exists for one website, one designer, and the simple joy of building something thoughtfully. If you're curious about it, you're welcome to explore the full system here.
The name "Chitra" is original. The name was conceived and chosen by Subhankar Rout — it carries a personal meaning and was not derived from any existing product, brand, or system. The name Chitra is the intellectual property of Subhankar Rout and may not be used to name, brand, or describe any other design system, product, or creative work without permission.
